I disagree, the rate of globalization is simply too fast & the violence that it’s causing threatens to turn the world to another dark age or worse. We need to back up & enjoy a little nationalism, indulge our middle classes with a little protectionism. If we’re going to survive as a species globalism is an unavoidable end, but the rate at which & way we get there is still hotly debatable.

There’s a strong push for the US to leave NATO since the advent of the EU, we don’t feel obliged to pay for the defense of a “nation” that has the same population & GDP as the US. To me Brexit showed that Britain still has a sense of self preservation many of us wondered if it still possessed.

Its working class do. The neoliberal global elite think the nation state is an anachronism, which should be consigned to the history books.

It will be, not yet & going too fast towards a single world gov’t has toppled every past civilization that’s gotten close. We need to look out for ourselves or we can’t help elevate the 3rd world & we don’t have the strength to face down China, Russia or Islamists. We require a strong middle class to be a strong nation & our middle class has taken a beating to the point that it’s in danger of disappearing.

You & I tend to agree that the left’s idea of globalism is more likely George Soros waging economic war on nations that offend his sense of social order. I am concerned about what happens tonight as the protests rapidly progress to full on riots. I’d love to see Soros jailed for acts of sedition, incitement to riot & possibly treason or espionage/sabotage. I don’t know if we can revoke his citizenship & put him on a no fly list or not, but that’d make me even happier.

He is just bringing back home the stuff he has been doing overseas for decades; stuff the US elite (such as Clinton as Secretary of State, fully supported.

Ayup, which makes me wonder where he plans to call home next. I expect him to attack our currency the same as he did when he left Britain.
